What is rating?
Your Rating is a measure of factors that are critical to tracking your performance to ensure your success in the Xometry Network.
We calculate your rating based on production results of all completed orders in the last 90 days or the last 10 orders. Overall rating is affected by 4 parameters (timing, quality, packing, communication).
How to calculate the score for each parameter?
Every order you produce is important, and every part can affect your overall rating.
For each parameter (timing, quality, packing, communication), we calculate the proportion of parts with issues - how many parts out of the total number of parts produced were made with issues.
This is how we get the claim/delay ratio and pack/communication issues.
Then we use the table and convert the percentages to a 5-point scale.
Then we use a special formula to calculate the overall rating for the period (last 10 orders or all orders in last 90 days).
Case study
Partner X produced the order with 10 parts. We have checked the parts and found out that 2 parts have quality issues (claim ratio - 20%) which leads to score 3 in quality. 5 parts were delayed (delay ratio 50%) which leads to score 2 in timing. No issue in packaging (packaging ratio - 0%) and communication (communication ratio - 0%) lead to score 5 in both parameter.
Based on all parts and its scores (last 10 orders or all orders in last 90 days), the overall rating is calculated based on the share of each indicator in the overall rating.
For a high rating, you need to produce on time the high quality parts, which are well packaged, and also respond to our requests in a timely manner (or inform us about possible problems with the order).
The rating can be found at Profile tab.
Why does Xometry need a partner rating and why you should monitor your ranking?
The rating allows us to choose the best performers to produce the orders. If we have received several applications for one order, our managers will definitely look at the Rating to make a decision.
Moreover, your high rating means the access to some additional features, such as faster payment, more interesting orders, etc.
In turn, your low rating will force us to restrict your access to our orders, and in some cases completely stop cooperation.
More about the rating
The rating has 4 indicators that influence the overall rating: timing, quality, packing, communication.
❗Important! Cancellation of the order has a strong negative impact on the rating!
You can check the detailed information on each parameter by clicking "Show detailed rating"
Rating is calculated after you produced and shipped your PO and can be changed after passing QC / receiving feedback from a client.
Each parts in the order is evaluated according to the system: ok (no issue) or issue (if there is an issue) for all 4 parameters (timing, quality, packing, communication).
Timing (how you meet the Production Orders deadlines)
Timing shows whether the order was made on time (according to the terms of the order) or there were delays. If you have taken an order, do not forget to upload all necessary docs and invoice to My Orders - this information shows us that the order is ready. The greater the delay, the lower the score.
How to improve
To improve "timing score", produce an order on time (or even before the Lead Time) and upload the necessary reports via the website. The order sent on the date of Lead Time is considered as "ok", but it is better to send the order in advance.
So If you produce an order and uploaded the documents before the specified lead time, this will positively affect your rating.
If there are no documents/reports, it means to us that the order has not been produced, there is a delay and the score is low.
Quality (how produced items meet quality expectations)
This shows how well the order was made. We count both the number of parts that were produced with defects within the entire order and the number of defective parts of the same type.
Every part which has claims will get "issue" and negatively affect the overall rating
The more claims, the lower the score for quality parameter.
How to improve it
First of all, you can improve your production - if your machines and processes are in good condition, then there will be a minimum number of defective parts.
You can carefully check quality before shipping your order to us - the sooner a defect is discovered, the more opportunities to fix it.
Pack the parts correctly. All your efforts can be ruined if you pack the parts poorly and they get damaged while in transportation.
Packing (how good you are in packaging of shipped parts)
The quality of packaging can greatly affect the number of claims. Therefore, please take photos and check how your packaging complies with our rules. Please take another look at our packaging poster to pack the parts correctly and to minimize the chance of damages while shipping.
If you do not pack the parts well or do not send us packing reports, your score may drop.
How to improve it
We recommend that you print our packaging poster and hang it in your packaging department. It contains all the necessary information about materials, packaging methods, as well as information about the necessary photographs for the report!
Do not forget to take photos and upload them (to My Orders - Order Details - Shipping)!
Communication (cooperation and communication)
We evaluate the quality of communication based on:
Reports uploaded on time (you can upload them directly to the site)
Have you reported any problems during production?
Do you reply our managers to emails and inquiries regarding the order?
If you do not upload reports or do not reply to our requests, your score may drop.
How to improve it
Download reports on time
Report problems and difficulties (any problems can be solved, the main thing is to report them!)
Respond to our emails and inquiries.
